Growing vegetables in plastic bags

It is a good concept to grow those things in plastic bags that are not perennial.  We have plants in pots but they are perennial.  What we have planted in plastic bags are tomatoes, radish, lady fingers, long beans, chilies and brinjals. We have a single creeper of bitter gourd and also a creeper of bottle gourd.

As you can see the plants are still small but look healthy.  We prepare our own compost and do not buy fertilisers.

In a couple of months I hope to get our own vegetables. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  2. Grow bags are the ones you need to use, the normal plastic leaches into the soil. I use pots mainly but I buy huge grow bags that have a protective coating and last for years.

    • These bags are not bought but we get while we do our shopping. We punch holes so that water does no retain in them. So far so good.

We do not get what you call grow bags here. I have many pots too but as I said there are plants in them that stay there for years.
