Growing bananas

The banana is a tropical plant that is very easy to grow. As long as there is water, no matter how little, the banana will thrive and bear fruits after some time. Usually the banana plant bears fruit after 1 year from the seedling phase but there are new banana hybrid that bears fruit within 6 to 8 months only. When the blossom appears, expect the harvest after 4 months. The harvested banana ripens all at the same time so the harvested 200 bananas need to be eaten within the week. For those who are not heavy eaters, they either sell the excess or give it away.

Unfortunately the banana needs a ground to stand on and it cannot be grown in a pot. Aside from the edible fruits and blossom, the fruiting banana can serve as a decoration since people are amused to see a banana plant with fruits.
