Green mountains in the middle of winter ~ Nature Tuesday

This winter is very “weird”. These are the mountains I see on a walk near my home. The mountains are approximately 2000 m high and should be covered with snow at this time of year. Although I do not like winter and snow, I am aware that we also need snow. Snow is significant rainfall. When the snow melts in the spring, it feeds the watercourses and groundwater and provides us with the water we need to survive. Of course, I also miss the view of the snow-capped mountains.

  1. Mother Nature is going on a roller coaster this year it seems. Here we have snow but not as much as other years except maybe in Newfoundland. As for water, here we have the most fresh water rivers and lakes in the world, so we should be OK unless we experience an enormous draught. Your mountains look naked at this time without any snow. Despite this lack they look majestic still…
