We often come across saying and quotes which describe life as it is and gives us something to ponder about. I learnt the art and science of practicing gratitude in my life many years ago. It has changed the way I think and act. It has brought about changes in my attitude which has taken me much further than I thought it would.
Gratitude makes existence life, brings positivity to life, teaches us to look for something that could make everything we do worth while. It gives us hope in the worst circumstances and gives us something to look forward to.
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” – Melody Beattie
This quote is a golden find for me . In a nutshell it tells us all we need to know about gratitude. I have been practicing gratitude for years that it has become my way of life.
Gratitude changes our perceptions of things, changes the way we act towards people and situations and it acts like a stabilizer for our emotions. You neither get giddy with happiness nor do you get into the doldrums with depression. Gratitude puts you in the right lane for living.
I hope it helps someone today.

“Gratitude reveals the fullness of life. It transforms what we have into sufficient and not only – it turns denial into acceptance, clutter into order, confusion into clarity … Gratitude gives meaning to our past, brings peace to the present day and creates a vision for tomorrow. ” (Melody Beattie)
Many years ago, my grandfather left a huge tip for a waitress in a restaurant. He simply wrote pay it forward on the receipt.
I watched him do that many times. Never leaving his name, simply the words pay it forward on whatever paper was included.
I follow that rule and do so often. Pay it forward!
That is a wonderful thing to do, We were asked to practice this in our church many years ago, somehow after a point we kind of stopped. Thanks for the reminder its time to start again.
I presented the concept many times over the years to many different groups. It is something best done quietly!
I do practice gratitude often in my life. Especially after losing my son, and others. You get a new perspective on life.
It somehow makes life livable.
Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. “We need to build a sense of gratitude and be grateful for everything that happens to us, knowing that every step forward is a step towards achieving something bigger and better than our current situation. “- Brian Tracy
