I really don’t know which kind of a gourd it is, it is a volunteer plant in my garden and I am letting it grow. I love these bright yellow flowers that bloom all over the vine . However, they do not last for more than a couple of hours. By 10 am with the sun’s heat they close up and wilt. I am waiting to see what kind of fruit/veggie it will produce.
I think it is the Benincasa hispida, the wax gourd, also called ash gourd or white gourd.
Ash gourd juice is said to help with weightloss, reducing blood sugar levels, reducing acidity etc. There are various claims about this vegetable but there is very little evidence as is the case of anything natural.
I thought this is the perfect picture for Kim’s Color Crazy challenge 2020.

I’ve seen it many times. I love this sunny color.
True gourds are very common place, you see them growing in the wild as well.
It really looks a lot like a pumpkin flower … it has nice yellow flowers
I agree. Actually the ash gourd is called white pumpkin here.
I do not know about pumpkins only that they have yellow flowers … I plant one in the garden just do not know its name … the fruits are elongated and green
It could be some kind of squash.
That is so beautiful. It looks like a very large bright sun
It does look so bright and pretty in the mornings.
So beautiful! Yellow flowers are always cheerful.
True , it is such a cheerful sunny color.
Beautiful flower. I don’t know what plant it might be.
Its either got to be pumpkin or ashgourd. Mellon flowers are much smaller , let’s see how this turns out.
Lovely as a ray of sunshine. Thanks Dawn.
I was thinking of your Day Lilly when I posted this.
