Gecko ~ Saturday Critters

A few days ago, I was sitting in the dining room when I saw shadows moving on the kitchen door frame. At first, I ignored it, but because the shadow moved again then I went to the kitchen to confirm the shadow.

Apparently, the shadow came from a gecko. Without delay, I immediately took the cellphone and captured the gecko because it was something I could share with you for Saturday Critters. After taking the picture, I immediately caught it and put it outside the fence. I have to do it because again, the women in the house will definitely be scared because of their large size, not to mention the very loud sound of the gecko that can shock the whole house. Gecko is a type of lizard from the genus Gekko, the Gekkonidae family.

Since the beginning of this millennium, in my country geckos have become expensive animals, not to be kept as pets but because they are said to be able to cure people with HIV or AIDS.

The gecko tongue and blood parts are said to contain substances that can fight the HIV virus. Geckos that have these properties are geckos weighing more than 3 ounces and are alive. In addition to the tongue, gecko gall is said to be effective for the treatment of people with AIDS. This is the news that makes people have to buy it at high prices to save their lives. The gecko gall section also contains anti-tumor and cancer compounds so that it can increase immunity. As for the days of our ancestors, gecko meat as a whole can cure various itchy diseases. Many people testify that itchy skin diseases can heal with geckos that are burned or fried.

The price of a gecko with a weight of fewer than 1.5 ounces is still in the range of US $ 15. However, if it’s large, about 2 ounces, and it’s old, then the price can reach the US $ 355. The giant gecko once found in the interior of Borneo (Borneo) weighs up to 64 kilograms and has been sold for more than $ 12.7 million purchased by Korean businessmen.

  1. Only very small lizards live in our country … if this is really healing it will be hard to survive … it will be exterminated

  2. We have Geckos in New Zealand but they are not common in the city, I have seen them in the Auckland Zoo. They are highly prized and usually native to New Zealand.
I did not know they made sounds.

  3. The legend of the Geecko in Thailand has to do with its voice. If the Geecko in your house says your name more than five times you are important. I remember lying in bed and counting the Geecko’s Geecko!

  4. I have never seen any in person and to tell you the truth I do not wish to because they are in my mind a type of reptile and I do not like snakes and any reptiles. I know reptiles have their use on this earth (although I was not aware of the gecko capacity for curing ailments) but I just do not like slithering type of animals. Give me a cat or a dog or a horse or a bear or a wolf etc. any day… I agree with Vidocka when she says you have several different visitors around your abode…

    • Thanks for the visit and support, dear friend.
I understand that you, like the women at home, don’t like snakes and any reptiles. But, by sharing it here, at least give a variation of the types of animals that have appeared in this challenge.

  5. I have actually only seen them in zoos and others that have them as pets. Not sure where else you would find them except maybe in the desert. They are cool.
