Gardening for fun and long life

As the saying goes, if you want to live longer then be a gardener. Some seniors take up a hobby when they retire and the most common here is painting. For those who have the inclination to arts, painting is one good pastime that you become productive. Even the former president of the Philippines, Corazon Aquino, took up painting lessons when she went back to private life. Some of her paintings fetched a high price, maybe not for the art but more for the artist.

Gardening is  in the same vein because it is also producing something.  Planting is growing and continuing the life of plants and trees. It is not only the propagation of the plants that matters but the harvest. For the fruits trees and vegetables, it is a joy to eat the harvest. For the decorative plants, it is happiness to see the flowers or even the new leaves that come up from day to day. Gardening is not an art but it definitely contributes to the longevity of the gardener.
