Fruits and vegetables are main sources of vitamins and other bioactive compounds in the food we consume and eating about four or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day is very much suggested since it is related with a reduced risk of chronic diseases.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has also advised that all people should try to eat at least four or five servings of fruits and vegetables of different varieties on a daily basis.
