I know and cherish many acquaintances and have very few friends. I am happy to say that I have some friends here and acquaintances that I enjoy. What is the difference between the two? I think that it is different for every person.
For me it’s a matter of trust. I truly trust my friends. That is something that is built over time. I freely give respect to all friends and aquaintances. Respect just “is” unless something is done that removes it.
In my life balance is it is important and respectful to have friends and aquanitances. There’s natural progressions that grow over time and is how acquaintances move on to be friends. Treat your acquaintances with love and respect, and someday they will be your friends.

I find myself letting few into the inner circle. But, as you’ve so eloquently said, once in there is much respect shared.
I cherish my friends.
This made me realize that it’s been a long time since I had met my childhood friends.
My life is closely associated with the Internet world these days. So I have a handful of really good friends whom I keep in touch with, a whole world of great online friends, and here and there some acquaintances.
I have very few close friends but many acquaintances.
I have several friends and a lot of acquaintances here on Virily; and I cherish every one of them!
Very thoughtful and philosophical post, just marvellous!!! it’s also a matter of trust for me.
