Hello friend! Friday is always about black and white photography. Today I have an outdoor low key portrait.
Low-key photography refers to a photo style that uses predominantly dark tones. This photo style is usually used to create a mysterious atmosphere. This type of photography is generally done in studio but … I do not have one so I tried a portrait outside a studio. That’s what I got! Hope you like it!
Don’t forget to post your B&W photography!
Rembrandt would be jealous, wow. You framed the face with darkness just like the master!
Oh my Gosh! What a compliment! How could I make such a painter jealous?
You captured the kind of pictures he painted so wonderfully!
I love this kinda effect! I love mysterious atmosphere!!
Great job!!!!
However, the photo is beautiful, and also remains mysterious. I even wonder, at one mystery, whose daughter is she?
I have no idea who she is! I took the picture during a concert. The little girl caught my attention because she was above all those present. Her father kept her on his shoulders!
low key here refers to the intensity of the key light. but in graphic design, key is the jargon for black ink which would make this mean the opposite thing…
Wow I would love to learn how to do this, I don’t think I have a setup for this at all. You are such a professional. WOW! This is a priceless photo my friend.
Thank you, Carol! All you need to take low key photos is your camera and one light source. The main tip is to avoid lighting the background.
