Friday in Black and White – Old shoes hanging on high-voltage cables

Have you ever been to the street, looking up and suddenly seeing a pair of old shoes hanging on high-voltage cables? Have you ever thought that someone could have done this with a purpose that escapes us?

Maybe it’s a new fashion? An urban trend that spreads slowly over small towns and cities? I do not know! Some say this may be a sign that the area is controlled by a certain gang. I do not know if it is, but I wondered why the shoes are there.

  1. It’s unique and rare, but it reminds me of high school time where a friend has a habit that is sometimes damnifying to have fun; he always writes scores on each page of his friends ‘notebooks like a teacher’s does, hides his friends’ uniforms, throws up shoes at the school roof, and even… that’s it… thrown up someone shoes to the telephone network cable.

    Cool picture, Ileana!

  2. What I understand is that the sneakers hanging on an electrical wire means it is a gang area. The question is how does anyone get up to the high electrical wire that high? There is an saying that reads on television ads in Louisiana “Electricity demands respect.”
