Fox Squirrel ~ Color Crazy

Sharing this photo on the last day of Kim’s Color Crazy Orange Challenge. Not really sure if he qualifies as orange, but he is close enough perhaps. He is officially called a golden brown.

The fox squirrel (Sciurus niger) is the largest of the tree squirrels. It is one of the most common squirrel species. They have long bushy tails and golden brown body and are often confused with the eastern fox squirrel. Fox squirrel is a native animal of North America.

A fox squirrel is a beautiful critter. I am used to seeing the grey and brown squirrels. But on those rare occasions, I used to see these beauties and was lucky to capture a photo. Love to watch them swish their big beautiful tails back and forth.

They love corn as you can see. We saw these all the time growing up, climbing and swinging from tree to tree. Nature has so much to offer. I hope you can get out and enjoy some of the free things in life.

  1. It’s not long before I saw her in the woods and also took pictures just to see worse because she was too far away, dear Carol … we have squirrels as much as you want
