Foods that Reduce Cholesterol

1. Nuts assist in lowering cholesterol

Nuts contain polyunsaturated fats, plant sterols and monounsaturated. It lowers the bad LDL cholesterol. Nuts such as pistachio, walnuts and almonds are rich in Selenium, Vitamin E and heart healthy fiber.

2. Fiber in fruits reduces cholesterol

Grapefruit, oranges, pears and apples contain soluble fibre. It helps lower cholesterol. You can also have other soluble fibre rich foods such as pears, apples and barley.

3. Antioxidants stops cholesterol damage

Fruits like Grapes, Blueberries and Cranberries protect LDL (bad) Cholesterol from getting damaged. Only damaged Cholesterol becomes sticky plaques and it may lead to growth of Atherosclerosis and increase the risk of heart disease.
