Flower Identified for LaJenna

Sharing a photo from my neighbor’s garden. LaJenna was asking for the identity of a flower and I was determined to find out the answer. I have a sweet elderly neighbor with a beautiful garden. I walked over to visit and see if she could help.

And there it was. The same flower LaJenna posted about HERE… LaJenna’s post.

This flower, according to my neighbor is a Garden Peony. And I plan to get them in my garden. They are gorgeous. The blooms are just beautiful. They come in different colors. But this white with a touch of purple is my favorite.

  1. I’ve heard of the name peony in many shows I’ve seen …
I’m sure they’re being shown in them too but I just can’t remember :/

  2. It’s a white peony. I have a red.
The legend says that in the kosovo field after the battle of the Turks and Serbs on June 28, 1389, that flower emanated from the red Serbian blood. After that, the Serbs were 500 years old under Turkish influence.
    Flower flies and beautiful smells.
It will soon flourish in my garden and set up a picture.

    • Oh I can imagine the red is just magnificent! Wow, thanks for the history. I had no idea the flower was known world wide. Looking forward to your photos!

  3. I was just about to ask if I really did see color on those. Wow, splashes of color. Those are really pretty. Beware if you do decide to grow them that ants are super attracted to them. They are very sweet. Ants do not harm them though, in fact there is an old wives tale that they have to have the ants to bloom which is just that, a tall tale. 🙂
