It was invented by George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr., which is why the English is called Ferris wheel. He built the first such wheel in 1893 for the World of Columbus World Exposition held in Chicago as the American response to the Eiffel Tower built for the World Exhibition in Paris in 1889.
The wheel diameter is 75 meters and its mass is 2000 tonnes. It is powered by 2 steam engines with a power of 1,000 horsepower each. To the wheel are attached 36 booths approximately the size of a bus. In each of them there are 20 seating and 40 standing places, thus the total capacity of the wheel is 2160 people. Each turn of the wheel takes about 20 minutes. Although it is about 4 times lower than the Eiffel Tower, the wheel is higher than any skyscraper of that time.

I do not think we have an amusement park in our country.
As far as I know in our country there is not even one amusement park …. the closest to us is Gardaland in Italy …. great picture
