Here’s a photo of the year’s biggest supermoon from a few days ago. I am very happy with this photo because I wasn’t expecting that my compact camera will be able to zoom in so much. What’s more, the sky was completely clear. I only regret that I couldn’t take a photo at sunset, because the moon was gorgeous, all in pink against the blue sky and the top layer of the sky was pink as well. What about you? Were you able to see the supermoon on February 19?

Great moon photo.
I have taken so many pictures of the moon. I like observational astronomy and was involved in sky watching projects in San Francisco. I met John Dobson, founder of the Sidewalk Astronomers, and inventor of a telescope design called the “Dobsonian” reflector telescope. He used to emphasize that the moon is the same for all of the earth.
That must have been an amazing experience!

We only saw it early, we ended up with cloud cover and didn’t see the supermoon late.
The early stage was very beautiful here, I still regret not being able to capture it.
I didn’t have my telescope setup early. Went inside to get it, and of course, the clouds were there.
