Eating green mango

In other countries all they know is the ripe yellow mango that is usually sweet and eaten as dessert. But in tropical countries we also eat the green mango that is about 2 weeks short of turning yellow. It is sour, all right, but it is good when eaten with salt or or fish sauce as dip. And the best match for the green mango is the shrimp paste that is the favorite of the older women.

  1. We have a green variety of mango in my house which is sweeter than yellow mangoes and with a unique taste. In fact we have hundreds of varieties of mangoes in my area which are exported from here. Your photo is unique and there is no doubt about it.
