Dusty Miller is grown primarily for its attractive silver-gray foliage rather than its yellow flowers. In fact, most gardeners prefer to cut off the flowers to encourage leaf growth. Dusty Miller is a nice addition to a colorful container garden, and makes a nice edging for your borders.
I was first attracted to this plant for its name, very close to Dustin. Turns out to be a great addition to my garden.

I’ve seen these in gardens but I had no idea what they were called. Dusty Miller seems appropriate although it also sounds like a baseball player.

common name for auricula, 1825, so called from the powder on the leaves and flower; millers, by the nature of their work, being famously dusty.

It’s a nice and different plant. There are several types of plants like that in my city even though some of them are already invisible.
