Children here are fascinated with the Christmas song Little Drummer Boy not because they think it was a nice song. The mention of the drum easily gives the idea that anyone can play and sing it. The song was popularized by the Jackson 5 a long time ago but it is still being played on the radio during the Christmas season.
Some carolers here bring their makeshift drum made from an empty can with one side open and the other side with plastic or cloth that is tied by rubber band. It produces a nice sound when the plastic is hit by the hand. Kids truly are innovative which is admirable that they deserve to be given coins and treats for their effort to sing carols.
