Domestic help for Saudi Arabia

Our former housemaid had applied for work as a domestic helper in Saudi Arabia. The job is all about the maintenance or upkeep of the house. But there is also the added duties like cooking, shopping for food and other errands that can be assigned from time to time. Most of the applicants are lured by the promised salary that is 10 times that they could earn in their country. They say the loneliness of being away from the family is worth the salary that they would earn.

But loneliness is not the main issue anymore for the overseas workers because the internet can deaden the longing. The video chat is one consolation. Seeing and talking with the love ones is very possible now. But life as an overseas working has the risks especially for a domestic help. Life would always depend on the character of the employer. They are lucky if their employer is kind and generous but most of the time it is the opposite that they get for an employer.
