Lainici Monastery is an Orthodox monastery of monks in Romania located in the defile of Jiu, Gorj County 32 kilometers from Târgu-Jiu. The Lainici monastery was built between 1812 and 1847 on a hill overlooking the Jiu Valley. It houses beautiful interior frescoes dating from 1860 and an iconostasis made up of Byzantine icons. It is an interesting monastery of historical importance for the Romanians, a place of peace and silence in a breathtaking mountain landscape. A very beautiful place, suitable for those who like to escape from the busy ad noisy cities.

It looks like a beautiful monastery. I have visited the Orthodox Church and have not visited the monastery. It was a pleasure to visit him.
No I have not visited, love the detail in this building.
I have visited many monasteries in Bulgaria and Spain. All have excellent architecture. Thank you for that part of Romania shown in the picture.
