Croton Leaves (2019-10-22 13-57-00_01)

22 Oct 2019

Chicago, Illinois (Edgewater neighborhood)

Nikon Coolpix P7700

The photo was taken in my backyard. It actually belongs to my next door neighbor. I’ve tried to raise them before without much luck. They are very pick about temperature. If it gets too cold, they start dropping leaves.

Editing was done with ACDSee Ultimate 2020. I adjusted the light EQ, increased the contrast, clarity and vibrance, sharpened it a bit and reduced the noise. Lastly I adjusted the levels.

  1. We call it here San Francisco plants. It has become rare in our place now unlike when I was still a kid when we have plenty of those. The plants have the nicest color combination. You can refer to them like they are color wheel.

  2. My late mother loved these plants. I can remember when she planted them in our front yard. She didn’t want green bushes. She wanted those plants because of the coloring. Every time I see these plants I think of my mother.
