With space constraints many opt for cremation. Here in India Hindus have just one option and that is cremation. There are two ways where one is, by using firewood and the other electric cremation.
Electric cremation is no doubt expensive but seems to be the best option. It gets done in minutes and also with this method there is no pollution.
Many Catholics also choose this option and the ashes are stored in niches provided in a cemetry. I remember a friend of ours chose cremation as he did not want his body to be consumed by maggots. Weird reason no doubt!

There are more and more cremations in our country. I would choose to do that too.
It is quick and easy and no pollution
They burn us in a gas furnace, dear Grace
Burial gives back to the earth ( recycling of waste) what we took so I would like to be buried.
Reminds me of Ash Wednesday “Dust thou art to dust returnest”
Burial was the standard here. But now cremation is getting popular. We have our request to be cremated when we die, my wife and I.
I suppose one has to make that request in a Will
