Coleus (‘Kong Rose’) (Bloody Mary/Orton Version) (2018-07-23 13-41-39b)
Order Lamiales : Family Lamiaceae : Plectranthus scutellarioides
Submitted for the Crazy Color Challenge – Red.
The plant was photographed in a garden along Wayne Avenue between Rosemont and Granville in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.
I took the photograph using a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera and edited using Luminar 2018. I added the ‘Bloody Mary’ preset from the Dramatic collection and added the Orton Effect filter with some adjustments.

Wow this is stunning Gary. I love these plants and you really brought out the beauty.
I like them because they are hard to kill. 🙂
Yes, and there is that as well!
I used to love this effect when I had photoshop. I never thought of using one of these plants. Boy that turned out so awesome. I really love this one.
Thanks, Kim. I appreciate your kind words.
I never used Photoshop but the earlier versions of Luminar included it. For some reason they removed it from Luminar 3 but I recreated it. I also created a version for use with ACDSee.
Beautiful picture … a beautiful combination of colors
Thank you very much. I’m glad you liked it.
This is amazing, beautiful plant.
There are a lot of varieties of this plant. Fortunately this one had a lot of red in it.
The image of the plant gives it a good combination of the colors red and white.
Thanks. I appreciate the feedback.
You are very welcome Gary.
