I do not know if this is the right color for the challenge of the Crazy Challenge Challenges 2019, but it’s a bit like the indigo color. I received this wonderful gift from my friend. I do not know if you have heard of the Idrija lace. Idrija lace is a type of bobbin lace that has been produced for centuries in Idrija and is an important part of Slovene cultural heritage. When and how they started on the Idrija bobbin, it is not known, it is assumed that the knowledge of this home craft was brought from the German or Czech lands more than three hundred years ago. Initially, the lace was intended for the decoration of churches and liturgical clothing and the furnishing of homes and clothing pieces of a wealthy peasant man. Knowledge of bobbin was transferred from the elderly to the younger, the mothers taught their daughters. Due to the growing demand for quality lace on the market, schools began to be established. In Idrija, a school was established in 1876, and since then it has been operating continuously. Today, the bobbin is a popular activity for many retirees. Idrija lace today presents a challenge to recognized fashion designers, artists, and other creators.

I was not aware of the exact name of this kind of lace. There are many works made by talented people in this field who I like very much. This is a very beautiful workmanship.
Thank you. These lace are very nice, but making is not easy
I am impressed with the craftsmanship of whoever made this artwork. So beautiful! I don’t know about the Idrija lace. I watched a YouTube video to see how it is being made and I think it is a very complicated process but interesting. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Sharon . Making lace is really very complicated. I tried, but I gave up.
Idrija lace is really something wonderful dear friend
Thank you very much, Lado
With great pleasure dear Vidocka
You are welcome ….
Thank you verry much dear Vida
I have seen this kind of thing but maybe it’s a different technique and motives, but it’s definitely not Idrija lace.
Certainly, elsewhere in the world, they are doing similar lace
Lovely post, I have seen some people do tatting here in New Zealand but not many do that today. Tatting is using a robin to create lace. Im not sure if it is the same thing that is traditional for you.
Thank you, Pamela. Unfortunately, I do not even know if the Idrija lace has already come to you … maybe ?
Perfect color for the challenge Love the photo!
Thank you, Jenna. I find it difficult to find a color for this challenge
