When the school approached and asked if I would come and help make some crafts with kids, I allowed the first to roll out of my mouth unfiltered. “Why one earth would I do that? Don’t you have art teachers for that?”
His reply was quick. “Yes, we have one art teacher and 6 grades. You have a relationship with the children in the classes where you come and read. We thought perhaps you could stay another hour or so and have them make something, perhaps even related to the book you read.
“I don’t really craft. I crochet and they are too young to do that.”
“I think you would be able to find a lot of things on line that might work for you. Please just think about it. I am sure you would enjoy it and I know the students would love it. I’ll see you on Tuesday.

There are workshops where, once a month, one of the parents goes and participates.
Just try it anyway… maybe you’ll fall in love with it …
I agree it’s a fun thing to try. Not being perfect at craft can actually make kids loosen up and have even more fun.
Yes why not, it is always fun to try something new.
Agree! Yes you should try it, kids can get distracted with almost anything.
