Cormorant Drying Himself – Saturday Critters

Cormorants are found in this posture most of the time. They dive into the water to fish and when they have eaten their catch you would see them shake their feathers and stand like this for 10-15 minutes drying themselves. They sometimes look like silly statues.

They usually get to the dry spots or island in the middle of the water to dry themselves. It is quite funny that once they are dry they dive right back into the water for more fish. Such silly creatures these cormorants are.

I wish I had a closer shot of this cormorant , but they get right into the middle of the lake where there are tiny islands.
