Constructing a house

Our neighbor is in the process of building a house. I saw the workers digging for the foundation of the structure. They said the hole would be more than 1 meter or 5 feet to carry the load of 3 floors. As I see it, the work is kinda big.

Unfortunately after 2 days of digging the rains came. Every day it is raining. The owner said that they are losing money on the time spent for removing the rain water in the holes that they had dug. Now that is a neat lesson to learn. Construction project should be started during summer.
