Confederate Soldiers Keep Coming

Take a tour on the spooky side at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. It was built in 1850 and is the city’s oldest and largest cemetery. It is the resting place of some well-known people such as Margaret Mitchell, Bobby Jones, and Maynard Jackson.

The cemetery also has a part where Confederate soldiers were laid to rest. Unfortunately, they have chosen not to remain at rest. Visitors have seen uniformed soldiers wandering about and some even hanging off of trees. This can become disturbing but perhaps they just want to ask directions to wherever they seem to be heading. There are those who have said that they heard the Confederate Army roll and thought their name was called. Perhaps these Confederates are still looking for people to enlist.

  1. There’s a cemetery within walking distance of my house that has a lot of graves of Civil War soldiers. They are mostly Union but there are some Confederates also. We also have a few cemeteries in the area that claim to be haunted but I’m not a believer in ghosts.
