Morning glory flower vines are a staple in my garden year after year. In colder climates like mine they are annual during the summer months and need to be planted each spring. In warmer climates they are perennials. Morning glory vines produce gorgeous flowers in brilliant hues like purples, blues and pinks. They are a joy to watch and add beauty to the landscape.
Not only are morning glory flowers beautiful they also have a rich history in healing, culinary uses and manufacture. The plant has long been valued in China for its medicinal properties. In ancient mesoamerican civilations, it was used to convert latex from the Panama rubber tree. The sulfur in the morning glory juice was also used to vulcanize rubber.

In my garden this is a weed. LOL I love this color and bought the seeds, now I have them growing everywhere they constantly need to be weeded out. 😀
I wish they grew that well here but they don’t and it is very difficult to get them to grow and bloom
Beautiful flower. Thanks for sharing interesting info. I didn’t know that.
Thanks for reading and your kind comments
It is rarely found in some countries
True and I understand it is banned in the USA
I bought seeds of different colours on line but just one or two colours came up. I was very disappointed.
Yes I know what you mean, the colors they show on the package is not always what you get
In our country, the climate allows them to bloom all year round.
That is good, here it only blooms for about 3 months in the year
