Carol inspired me to share this photo with Color Crazy Challenge. My marigold is a bit different from hers but it is a beautiful orange flower I meet in the park, wich blooms all summer.
In my area, the flowers are grown as an ornamental plant, but I know the marigold petals are edible and are very good added to salads for taste or color.
Also, the marigold flowers are used in the pharmaceutical industry for the extraction of lutein.

Are all types of marigolds edible?
Those found in my country are edible! And I think all are edible, but you do not have to trust what I say! ?Dried and crushed petals can be used as a spice.
That’s interesting, Ileana. I only know a few, also one of the types whose leaves are often used as food that even has the properties to treat cancer.
Love yours too. I knew they were edible but I have not tried them. I prefer to see them in my garden.
Sometimes I use them to make tea, but not usually!
Oh this ones pretty as well. Less petals it looks more wild to me. Great shot and awesome info on this amazing sunny looking flower.
I love marigolds, they are lovely flowers. I didn’t know the petals are edible though, that’s interesting to know.
I knew they were edible but I did not use them normally. Sometimes I use them for tea.
