This is a biannual plant that blooms in the evening and close during daylight hours. The flowers are large, yellow with four petals. At night they spread a fine and delicate fragrance. The stem reaches a height of up to 1m.
The fruits in the form of capsules are long and straight, each containing about 600 seeds from which one obtains an essential oil used in numerous natural treatments.
The essential oil obtained from the seeds is one of the most appreciated treatments for skin conditions. It is among the few essential oils that contain gamma-linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid that helps cell regeneration, has restructuring, soothing, revitalizing, anti-wrinkle, is rich in vitamin E – a reputed antioxidant – that protects the skin from premature aging, strengthens nails and hair and maintains their beauty.

some of the earliest fractal series were discovered by looking at plants
Interesting post. Never seen this flower before.
It grows generally on sandy soils, on the banks of rivers. Look for it in such areas!?
How beautiful, I think I saw some today while I was out.
I’m sure you’ve seen it! It is native to America. It was introduced to Europe in the early 17th century as an ornamental plant in botanical gardens. Did you know the flowers are attractive to Hummingbirds?
