I don’t know if Mandarin Orange bloom and fruit all year round or only during Spring/Chinese New Year period, but they’re extremely popular plant for the festive season!
The fruit (Mandarin Orange) is called Ji Zi whereby “Ji” is the same pronouciation as the word (Ji) which means auspicious! Also, when visiting during New Year, people bring Ji Zi, and then when they leave, the host will return them 2 brand new Ji Zi, so blessing to both host and guests!

Perhaps you can try a Chinese garden store or perhaps chinatown (if there is one in your area) during Chinese New Year, you might find one … who knows 🙂
