This beautiful Eurasian collared dove visits every now and then and always takes my breath away. He is almost white. You can see the black ring around his neck. I am used to seeing the brown mourning doves.

In researching these doves I found out they are rare to the US. These doves are camera shy, so I had to take this photo from inside the patio door, in between the blinds.

I feel sad because this reminds me of our pet pigeon. Maybe I will post an article about it. We named her Twinkle and she lived with us for 5 years.

These doves come to my neighbors’ roof and coo a lot. They are cute but my cats are always trying to catch them which is sad. Thankfully they’re not the greatest hunters :))
I am sure the cats do go after them. My cats are indoor cats thank goodness. I also love the coo of the morning doves.
They are very rare, but we see them in the park near our house. Once a year usually. great capture.
They are rare in my area. And such a delight to see them. Almost angelic with their color so close to white. Thanks Doc.

I have not seen pigeon for a long time. They disappeared in our country.
These are doves, in the same family but not the same as pigeons. Their size, food and sound is different. Wonder why the pigeons disappeared.

In fact i have hunted the dove 20 year ago
I remember growing up dove hunting was very popular. These are in my yard now.
Today I do not like thinking about others who dove hunt, I love the birds too much.
