Clowning in the Sea

Among the most colorful fish around the world are clownfish. No, they do not look like Ronald McDonald swimming underwater nor do they look like Pennywise from IT, thank heavens. They are colorful and cute and you can find them in the Great Barrier Reef, the Red Sea, and the Indian and Pacific Oceans. The reason they are called clownfish is because of the bold colors just like a clown’s painted face.

Altogether there are 28 various groups of clownfish. They have bright orange colors with distinct white bars. They perform a dance-like movement in the water. What is interesting is that all clownfish are born as males but as they go through the growing up period they can switch their sex.
