Sharing a butterfly from days gone by. This yellow sulphur was enjoying my deck Lantana blooms. They should return any day now to my garden. The sulphur butterflies are very common here in the US.
The cloudless sulphur is widspread in the southern United States, and it strays northward to Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and New Jersey, and even into Canada. It is also found southward through South America to Argentina and in the West Indies.
One of my favorite little things I enjoy the most this time of year are the butterflies.

Another beautiful picture and a beautiful butterfly.
Great picture — I have made a point of photographing every butterfly that visits my yard. Well, I mean a picture of each type. Not every single one. I saw a swallowtail in my blackberry bushes one day and ran fro my camera while a visitor was in mid sentence. At first they didn’t realize what was happening. Butterflies and dragonflies and maiden flies have taken the most effort.

Butterflies and moths are common visitors in the house. A sort of reminder from someone who is no longer with us. Coincidentally, such visits happen during birth and death anniversaries ?
As we were walking yesterday a monarch floated by. By the time I got my phone out, it was gone. Arrrgghh!
They have nice colour!
This one is not common here, I guess, never seen one like that …

Agree that you can still see your favorite things. I still see butterflies around my yard, except I’m not home.
I see a butterfly very rarely. There are very few of them in our land.
That is kind of sad. But I know you must have other critters there that we do not.
We have a white butterfly that looks like that but it is white not sulphur.
We also have white ones here and call them cabbage butterflies.
This is one of the most common butterflies we have around.
And it happened again but a little different… just replied to a comment. And now that comment is gone but my reply is still here. Oh well!
Has anyone else had this happen to them? Disappearing comments?
I have the feeling that this year there are many butterflies. And in Spain and Bulgaria.
I hope the same is true here. If the heat is a factor, we should have many.
I had many monarchs last year, I hope I have more this year.
