In our culture, Christmas day is the grandest day of the year because it is the time for giving gifts to the loved ones. In that essence, Christmas day is usually reserved for the family bonding and even clan gatherings where cousins meet at least once a year to exchange not only gifts but also pleasantries.
The host of the gathering would have prepared enough food but the guests are also welcome to bring their contribution. For me and my wife, it is always the whole roasted pig that we bring. It is always the center of the dining table that is enjoyed by everyone. And when there is a leftover, it is cooked into a dish called paksiw which can last for several day. Happy day for Christmas day for all of us.
