Chestnuts

It always seemed to me that the chestnuts crashing around a tree are the notes of the sky’s blues, which are later without mistakes sung by the wind, constantly rehearsing in the chimneys of houses, the masts of ships, the tops of pines…

I loved playing with chestnuts in my childhood, and my pockets always were full of those brown balls. It was a pure pleasure to peel the shell and find the brown nugget inside.
