Love ItLove It

can you hear the song bird?

up there high in the sky singing a song

of what it sees.

do you see what the songbird sees?

Can you feel the wind as it whips the trees

shaking the very song of the songbird?

blinded by the gray that

flows like water from the sky

drawing the sound of the song

the melancholy echos not the same

as the sound recreated

as we chase snowflakes that

formed from the shattered

sound of the songbird

to lie

empty on the ground.

Are we victims now?

of the shattered lost

sound

of the snow bird song?

  • I spent a day in the winter photographing the birds in my parents back yard, have you ever done that?

  1. The melancholic sound of the songbirds song tugs at the very core of our hearts. We have a bird here ( I don’t know what exactly it is called in English) that mourns tragically, the song of this bird could really make you cry if you had experienced loos or heart ache in the recent past. I was reminded of that bird when I read your poem.
