“Surprise, we’re here to spend the night!”
“Great, we always love to have you come. Grandpa was just deciding what to have for dinner.”
“We want pickle nickles.”
“What the heck are pickle nickles.”
“Wow, you are a Yankee. I think you cook pickles kind of like you cook okra with some cornbread stuff.”
“Humm, I guess the two of you need to head to the kitchen and work with Grandpa on dinner. I won’t be the chef tonight.”
It wasn’t too long before Grandpa handed me steaks and said “you go grill and we’ll handle the rest.” I did remind Grandpa it was 10 below outside at the grill. He simply handed me a coat and said “I love you.”
The grandkids had some kind of deep fried pickles with their steak. I choose to eat other vegetables. They were quick to remind of the no thank you rule. The rest of them loved pickle nickles!

Will try fried pickles for sure.
We used to go to this restaurant in the Western Hills area of Cincinnati. They served fried pickles. We were there one evening talking, we looked over, our daughter had eaten the entire bowl of fried pickles. They are a favorite amongst the youngers in the house!
Never heard of this name but love fried pickles.
Pickle nickels are on my must eat list one day.
So far I have not tasted a friend pickle that I liked.
