Camellia Memories

Today is Mother’s Day for some of us. I am sharing a beautiful camellia bloom from my Dad’s yard. I took this photo on my last trip to his home after he passed.

My Mother died when I was 14. I have no photos of her flowers unfortunately. But I am sharing this beautiful bloom with raindrops from my Dad’s yard in memory of my beautiful Mother.

Hopefully they are reunited now, somewhere out there. And I will see them all again on day. My hope and belief. And of course I will always and forever be Dustin’s Mom.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers, sisters and aunts out there.

No matter how much suffering you went through, you never wanted to let go of those memories. ~Haruki Murakami

    • One of my favorites from that last visit at his home, without him. Planning to get a camellia tree for my yard. Would love to have transplanted his, but it was about 50 years old probably. He had several trees. I hope your Mother’s day was great!

  1. We are the compilation of our memories, our thoughts, and our dreams. I know, as my wife lost her mother ten years ago, that losing your mother is painful. But the honor you’ve shared is a great memory!

  2. Such a lovely white flower! Happy Mothers Day! Memories are part of our lives that is worth keeping. I have some bad memories that I want to keep. Because of these memories, I can truly appreciate what I currently have.

    • I love these blooms, with I had a tree in my yard. Maybe one day. Yes, memories are what keep me going, no doubt. Things we have been through make us who we are today. Thank you Sharon for sharing your kind words.

  3. Nice Mother’s Day, my dear friend …. I usually do not like memories … I think it’s just mine, it’s going to be bad but nice memories
