Cacti are succulents adapted to life in the deserts and arid regions of America. They are a specialty among plants because they have a special metabolism that allows them to survive long periods without water. Succulents are almost the only plants in the desert, so they protect themselves from enemies with long spines, inedible matter in tissue, or blend in with their environment. Because of their adaptation to the harsh environment, cacti are of incredible shape, and are easily grown in rooms, balconies and window sills due to their apprenticeship to drought. I painted this cactus this year at sea and it grows in the garden. What kind of unfortunately I do not know, but it attracted me with special flowers. Also, I don’t know if these are flowers or they are fruits

I once loved cactus and collected it but then switched to collecting bonsai. However, I still like the cactus.
It must be the fruit before it becomes a flower.
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, dear friend….it’s supposedly an edible fruit
You are always welcome, dear friend.
Ah, by the way, I remember that my previous statement was wrong, I mean this fruit before was a flower. I know that there are cactus fruits that edible and some are no, but I don’t know about this one.
I didn’t know it before, but some members told me that, my friend
Maybe someday you can taste it, Dear friend.
Even if I ever see it again, I certainly won’t try it …. I’m not sure it’s edible

If you peel off the rind and spines, you can eat the insides. Mexicans call that nopales. it’s good in omelettes

She has them in her house, although their new kitty has gotten hurt on the cacti by swatting at them.
Cacti and pets go really harder together, my friend … especially cats that are more curious
