Snapped this photo at our local state park nearby. Went to visit the rescued owls.
I could not resist taking a few photos of this beautiful tree. I have talked about it before. But when I edited it to black and white for the challenge, I was amazed at the detail.
Hope you enjoy seeing this beautiful tree both in color and in black and white. Also, I missed the Shadows challenge yesterday, so this photo will have to be for both challenges.

The black and white image shows so much more detail. I love the play of light!
I agree with you, this tree was a great photo op.
It really was a great capture. One of those captures that asks many questions!
They both show great detail. I have been missing the Friday’s black and white challenge. I have to remember it next week. Great Photos!
Thanks for your comment. Appreciate you.
I like both photos and they have a different but good aspect of the tree
Thanks, they are each very different for sure.
I am not sure if I see more or less in the B & W picture. But the B&W picture looks better than the color one.
Thanks, I think the details show up better in the b&w.
I can see the tree’s shadow better in the black and white picture, but I do like seeing the moss on the tree’s bark in the color picture.
Thanks for noticing the details Chris. I agree with you. Good to see you.
Beautiful picture. I think that black and white are more visible details
Thank you, much more detail in the b&w I believe.
Impressive! The black and white photo is like a mysterious scene in a movie.
Thanks Sharon. I love nature and this is mysterious.
Usually, I do not like gray photos, but yours is amazing
Thank you, it is all about the subject. And this tree was incredible.
Wow! I really like the picture, both in the color and black and white version! That is amazing!
Thanks, I was blown away by the detail in this massive tree.
I prefer the B & W version. I like the gray tones and the alternation between light and shadow! I love it!
I was amazed when I edited this one in b&w. It really came to life, with all the details. Thanks!
Both pictures are beautiful … each one in its own … a menoi personally likes color
Thank you my dear friend. I like them both as well.
