Black and White Friday ~ The ancient beauty of Skofja Loka

A couple of days ago, I again visited the beautiful town of Škofja Loka. Not far from the south rocky edges of the Alps and under the green slopes of the foothills, at the door of two valleys lies Škofja Loka, a picturesque old town. A thousand years old Škofja Loka, founded by the Freising Bishops in 973 at the confluence of both Sora, is one of the most preserved medieval towns in Slovenia. The name consists of two characteristics of the city: the word loka means the grassy world by the water, and the word of the škofja hints at the former owner of the Freising bishops.

  1. I’ve always been in love in an old city or place. It’s like nostalgia for me and taking me back the old happy memories

  2. What a New Zealand person would call old would not be old for you. Most pioneers settled in New Zealand from 1840, and after, but there were people from Europe before that. Wonderful old town love the black and white

  5. The old cities are very attractive. There are many in Bulgaria. There is also Spain here. Wherever they are, they are always visited by many tourists.
