We had a nice sunny day today and it wasn’t too hot either. So I decided to take a walk to the neighboring village – Sencur. Sencur is already a small town. There is also a beautiful parish church. Today I took a shot from the other side. The parish church, dedicated to St. George, is first mentioned in written sources in 1238. St. George was a martyr and considered a patron of various knightly orders and soldiers. The present one-nave Baroque church was built in 1747 in the area of the elders, of which only the bell tower is preserved. The parish church, including the chapel and parish buildings and the remains of the former camp walls, is an important cultural and historical monument of local importance.

What a beautiful church, we have quite a few churches in Onehunga and they are lovely buildings
I agree. All churches are beautiful to me. Each is something special.
Our church which is walking distance has been done up at great cost. It now looks pretty and huge. There is a single fan that caters to the entire hall.
Your church must be beautiful. Our churches are all very cold. Me always cold in the church.
What a lovely church for the challenge.
Thank you so much for your kind comment
This is a very beautiful church, dear Vidocka …. as close to you as you want
Thank you, Lado. The church is close enough
Have you ever visited the inside, dear Vida
Yes, I’ve already visited the interior. I also take a look at Christmas cribs every year.

Thank you so much. I’m glad you liked the picture
There is a church fairly far away from where we live. When we lived in Cincinnati Ohio we literally had a church just past the fence of our backyard!
In our country, every city and every village has a church. So I have a church near my home.
It is the same in the US, just that churches were often built in town, the town has expanded since then and churches are not near.
I like churches because they are a symbol of faith for us people.
I totally agree with you, Ellenka. I visit the church at every opportunity.
