Mountain huts is a mountain facility that serves mountain or economic activity, it is managed by a mountaineering society. In our mountains, we find many mountain huts. I can say that every mountain has its own. Some are larger, others smaller. Mountain huts offer food and drink, as well as some accommodations. They are open and maintained primarily during the summer mountain season (from the end of June to the end of September) and, exceptionally, outside the season, usually at weekends and holidays. The mountain hut in the picture is Erjavec’s hut on Vršič and is located at an altitude of 1525 m. I visited her last year.

Visited a small mountain hut in Voss (not far from Bergen, Norway), got there by cable car. There was stored the ski equipment and had a small cafe. Watching mountain views from its viewing platform was just super!!! Thank you so much for these happy moments remembered after reading your amazing post + looking at your marvellous photo!!!

Never have visited a mountain hut, but I have visited similar in Hawaii.
Sure, the huts in Hawaii are also beautiful. I have not seen them yet

I don’t live near to the mountains of the volcanic plateau by Tongario National park.
However, I visited a place called, “Norsewood” that is between Hawkes Bay and Palmerston North. They had buildings that looked like your mountain huts.
I will write an article about it as I would be interested in what you think of it.

It’s a great idea for those who are into this kind of activity. The only mountain climbing activity I remembered was when I was visiting my grandparents on their farm. We need to climb the mountain and down again because that was the shortest route. But I don’t experience the activity with a group of mountaineers. I am not sure if I could bear the challenge.
I’m not exaggerating with this activity either. Occasionally I climb to a hill but not very high. This hut can be reached by car.
