Black and White Friday ~ Minorite Monastery Olimje

This picture is brand new.  I did it yesterday when I researched our country. It is the Minorite monastery Olimje. Olimje is a small village that won the Gold Medal for the most beautiful village of Europe in 2009. The Olimje Minorite Monastery (Olimje Castle) was built at the beginning of the 11th century. In 1663 it was taken over by Pauline monks. Pavlina’s established a monastery in it and added a Baroque church. Today, the monks care for pilgrims and tourists who come to visit the monastery, the Baroque parish church of Mary’s Assumption and a pharmacy arranged by monks. The pharmacy is among the three oldest in Europe.

  2. We have Tibetan Monasteries in certain parts of our country and I always admire them while passing through or visiting them.
