This picture is brand new. I did it yesterday when I researched our country. It is the Minorite monastery Olimje. Olimje is a small village that won the Gold Medal for the most beautiful village of Europe in 2009. The Olimje Minorite Monastery (Olimje Castle) was built at the beginning of the 11th century. In 1663 it was taken over by Pauline monks. Pavlina’s established a monastery in it and added a Baroque church. Today, the monks care for pilgrims and tourists who come to visit the monastery, the Baroque parish church of Mary’s Assumption and a pharmacy arranged by monks. The pharmacy is among the three oldest in Europe.

You are right. I visit him at every opportunity.
Thank you very much. It’s really a wonderful place.
I visited a Monastery in Sydney Australia, I was curious but never seen one, and the Nuns were very nice and showed me around.
In this monastery but they are fathers. They are also very friendly.
These are places that have preserved the culture of nations for centuries. This is very beautiful and the picture is great.
I agree. There are many such places in our land. Now that I’m retired I have more time and I can visit them.
Even I am owning a pharmacy
Wooow, super. It’s a pity you live in another country. I would definitely visit your pharmacy.
We have Tibetan Monasteries in certain parts of our country and I always admire them while passing through or visiting them.
I would like to see the Tibetan monastery live (I only saw it on television). The monastery must be very interesting.
The photo looks great in black and white.
I agree, Carol. Some buildings are beautiful in black and white
It’s a lovely photo. We have a monastery in our place but I wasn’t given a chance to go there.
Thank you, Sharon. The monasteries are really interesting.
Thank you so much. ….
Nice black and white photo of a special monastery.
Thank you, Albert. This monastery is really special.
Even I, who only saw it from your photo, thought so.
Very beautiful monastery in black and white, dear Vida…..I visited this monastery precisely
Thank you Lado. It’s also really nice in black and white.
I only agree that it is more beautiful in colors
It’s a beautiful black and white photo, tell me the biggest place near that monastery.
We know the bigger ones.
Thank you, Robin. The nearest bigger town is Podčetrtek. You may know the town of Celje, which is approximately 27 km away.
That is a wonderful picture .
Thank you so much …..
This monastery looks majestic for a 11th century structure.
The monastery is really very well preserved
