Biscuits and Stroganoff Casserole Recipe

Stroganoff is a wonderful tasting and very filling meal. Biscuits are great as a side dish. When you put the two together in the form of a casserole, the resulting biscuits and stroganoff casserole is nothing short of amazing. It also isn’t difficult or time-consuming to make. In fact, it is quite easy.

This recipe is actually designed for use with ground venison or elk, however, it also works great with hamburger, which is what the following calls for.

Biscuits and stroganoff ingredients:

1 lb ground beef (or venison or elk)

1 medium onion, chopped

1/2 bell pepper, chopped

2 cups sour cream

1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp parsley, chopped

2 packages tube biscuits

Biscuits and stroganoff instructions:

1. In a large frying pan, brown the ground beef, onions, and peppers over medium heat.

2. Add the can of cream of mushroom soup, parsley, and salt. Simmer for about 20 minutes, then stir in the sour cream.

3. Bring the mixture barely to a boil, then remove it from the heat and pour it into a 1 1/2 quart baking dish.

4. Place the biscuits over the top, cover the dish, and bake for 20 minutes at 375° F, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top. Serve hot.

This meal is both easy to make and filling, yet it is delicious. It can be served with a vegetable side dish or not, as you prefer.

Once in a while, for something a little different, we also add a few strips of limber cooked bacon, before adding the biscuits. We love bacon and this dish is great for bringing out the flavor of the bacon.

As you can tell it doesn’t even take long to make, usually less than a half-hour. This is a great meal for those times when you want something that is easy, delicious, and that doesn’t take a lot of time to make.
