DocAndersen
lies the bones
of what was a Kracken
or
simply a
huge collection
of used
boat parts
that flung over the side
rushed together to
create a legendary creature
meant to terrify and alarm.
The glint of sun
on water
churned by seagulls
and left
alone for days
the oystering spitting
the sound
of quiet. Other than
the seagulls diving
and
in grabbing
part of the Kracken
fly away triumphantly
see my prize they cry
as they drift away on the sky.

New Orleans is a great charming city.
We did a company event there three out of four years. I loved the city during the day. At night it gets loud, but it was fun wandering Bourbon Street at night.
My sister and brother in law also like to visit the French Quarter and the Riverwalk at night some of the time since they live in the North Shore region.
I once went on a company organized fun run at 6 in the morning. Half of my team was on bourbon street. They said you still out from last night (I did not go out to bars on these company trips). I said no, I am on the fun run. They were still out from the night before.
Only in New Orleans.
New Orleans has the nicknames “The Crescent City” as well as the “City That Care Forgot.”

New Orleans is an amazing mix of culture, sound and fury!
The city reminded me a lot of the former Canal Zone in Panama.
I have been all over South America, but I’ve never been to Panama. A hole in my world travels!
Panama is one wonderful nation to visit with the new subway system in place.
